Mission Statement
The mission of Human Resource department is to support North Shore Learning Center by providing the resources to give our staff and patrons the necessary knowledge and access to services to continue in support of the overall mission. The Human Resources staff contribute to the development and retention of team and volunteers to meet the needs of the NSLC community. The department seeks continuous improvement to achieve desired results from our programs, training, and partnerships.
Through repeated failures in the classroom and the development of destructive habits, at-risk youths residing in poor neighborhoods on the North Shores of Staten Island have lost faith in the possibilities that await them if they are not successful in putting their lives together. To accomplish this goal, young people must be in a caring, inclusive learning environment that promotes their best effort and reinforces personal respect. We are working to make these possibilities a reality working with one family at a time.
